Il regolamento (UE) 2024/1689 è entrato in vigore il 1 agosto 2024 e si applica per fasi: le pratiche vietate da febbraio 2025, gli obblighi per i modelli di IA per finalità generali da agosto 2025 e il grosso del quadro normativo da agosto 2026. Suddivide i sistemi in rischio inaccettabile, alto, limitato e minimo, con obblighi proporzionati a ciascuna fascia. Raggiunge anche i fornitori extra-UE il cui output è utilizzato nell’UE.
In pratica: Un’azienda SaaS statunitense che vende nell’UE rientra nell’ambito di applicazione indipendentemente da dove è costituita.
